Default cast or drilled, it's still going to crack easier/earlier then a non drilled rotor...

...the hole gives the stress/heat crack a place to start from. I'm sure casting the hole helps, but not as much as no hole at all.

does it provide better cooling than a plain or slotted rotor?

Yeah, it makes a mess if you drive it right after a wash. Black goo all over the inner wheel area.
