I'm wired into dome light, and laser portion goes nuts when I blow horn...any ideas?

Default Did you blow the horn when the Trailblazer in front of you nailed their brakes?

If so, the 3rd brake light on that Trailblazer will set off your laser alert. Same with a few select other vehicles.

You saw the Trailblazer too? No, happens anytime, anywhere.

Default The only thing I can think of...

horn and dome lights are wired on the same circuit (same fuse), and the horn draws too much current, temporarily disrupting the power supply to the V1. Somehow, this slight change in power to the V1 sets off the laser alarm. If you wanted wild unfounded guesses, there you go....

Sounds plausible...will choose different circuit or just give people the finger and not use horn.

Why did you do that? Re-wire it into the fuse box (probably easier anyway).

Default Okay, so your V1 is working fine off the cig lighter too (correct?)...

call Valentine, and ask them to ship out a new DPA, and see if that fixes your shorting issue.

Just talked to Valentine. Fuse is 1amp ~50volts. He said to check the phone cord from dpa to unit
