Re: Pffft. That software is a cash cow. They charge 250.00 a pop and don't have active support...
Unfortunately, it isn't a cash cow. S4 owners are the only people that buy it, not to mention that sales have never been all that strong for it. We also don't plan on releasing any patches/upgrades for ECUx1 as it is dated software (I can't even get it to compile). ECUx2 on the other hand is something that I personally work on, and it is first and foremost an internal tool. If you guys want it to be sold, contact the people in sales. We have no idea what the demand is like for a new version to be released, and considering how much work would be needed (to make registration less of a pain for both parties, no more cable issues, as well as active updates) it doesn't make much sense now.
As it stands, ECUx1 is for the most part dead and will not be resurrected. I do my best to support people that DO have issues, but it's excessively difficult considering I have no experience with it and can't even open up the majority of the source code to figure out the cause of problems. I do my best to keep support active (and keeping on top of registration requests, issues, etc) but it does take a back seat to my other priorities.
I do apologise though for the lack of response, I was having issues where I just magically stopped receiving e-mails. The fault lies solely on my side as far as that goes.

while I don't have that answer, I think there's a chance you may have been mixing...
two products. Explorer (at least v1) was for logging, while another product of theirs was for tuning. I don't know if they've merged the two into one, but perhaps it is that other one that you've heard of. Just guessing here.

i just hard from someone in tight with apr that v2 of ECUx would have some open source
kinda features in regards to actual me7 parameters and the ability to tune fuel curves and some other things

ahh, gotcha....
from the sounds of it, ECUx v2 is just for internal use, so what you may have heard may not apply if they decide to make it avail to the public
