Why is everyone so anti-V8 for the S4? I don't understand it.

One of the most versitile, reliable platforms in the world and import kids are crying bloody murder.
I love V8s. Instant power, lots of it. They're easy to work on and make mods to. Nearly any V8 is going to have better HP increase potential than a 4 or 6.
The pushrod V8 in the Corvette Z06... Awesome. The 5 litre V8 in the M5... flawless. The 4.2 in the S8... well that engine can move a 4000lbs car to 60 in 6 seconds and the 1/4 in 14.6 according to motorweek (who conservitivly put the S4 at 5.9 seconds and 14.5). Thats a 360HP engine with 320ft moving a hell of a lot of car using a tiptronic transmission and quattro. WHOOT!
If the earlier posts are true and the 4.2 is definately going in the S4... well I'm an Audi devote for life.
I need to work on a new sig to show my enthusism.

Normally aspirated engines do just fine, ti'll this day, the fastest saloon is BMW's M5 powered by 400HP V8. I don't care what you say about RS6, I've seen 4.5 0-60 runs for M5. Further more, Audi aluminum cast V8, is lighter than cast iron 2.7tt engine.

1) The 4.2 is aluminum caste, and 70lbs lighter than 2.7tt
2) V8 sounds better, especially, huge cylinders on 4.2 litre part
3) A v8 will give you more pulling power on highway, a good v8 will out pull a great v6 tt @ higher speeds, your turbo can only take you so far
4) Engine longevity, on v8 normally aspirated, is longer than v6tt, over time, the v6tt will become less and less responsive, due to engine tear, clogged tubes
5) The v6tt will has more parts, therefore, has more chance for something to go wrong
6) Oh dear I say you have a much bigger engine v8 4.2 to start with, therefore, you have more room to work with in moding, you could turbos if you wanted 2, it's just a better engine, yes bigger, is better, the more cylinders the better, the more air I can push through the better
7) Any heavy fast car you see out there is powered by V8, the S4, is fairly heavy because of quattro, power seats, luxury items, the S4 is not a pure sports car, it's a sports luxury sedan, so a bigger engine will help it over come it's weight, it's not a light assed corvette or porsche, so it needs more engine.
8) Ok ... how many of the world's fastest cars, ie, Ferrari, Lambo, F1, etc ... are pushing v6tt's none, they all start @ base V8, only porsche is one to be different, and they do a good job, but they have a light car to work with, however, the new 997 is supposed to get V8 tt from cayenne, first time 911 tt will see a v8, imagine the possibilities.
9) the v8 4.2 tuned, modified, developed for S4 in conjunction with "Cosworth Racing" can not be a bad combination. Please let's put an end to v6tt, so some real power, can come our way.
10) Damn, 8 is always better than 6, ask any women.

It's not like your going to find reasonably priced cams/heads for a european N/A V8. You can mod a C5's V8 alot easier than you would one from Audi. HP increases are going to be hard to come by w/o forced induction or w/o spending a GRIP!!!!! heheheh.....that's the reason why I wouldn't want a V8. Yes, I love the instant response of big N/A displacement....but it's hard to beat the hp/$ with a forced induction car from the factory. Now a turbo V8......I'll be in line for one of those. ;P
