Why I may never buy another Audi.

Don't make me post pictures of my headlights as a reminder as to how much
Don Rosen service stinks.
I almost feel bad about yelling at the SA because I hear he dropped dead a few days later.

The dealer is part of the problem, but the bigger issue is the engineering
I've had my share of aggravation with dealer service, but my biggest beef is with some engineering choices that were made that needlessly raise maintenance costs.
My favorite example:
On a Japanese or American car, replacing the thermostat is a 10 minute DIY repair. Remove two bolts, pop out the old one, pop in the new one, new gasket, replace the bolts, and you're good to go.
On the Audi, it requires removal of the bumper, disassembly of the front of the car - it's essentially the same job as a timing belt replacement. Unless you are REALLY experienced in wrenching cars, you'll probably bring it to a dealer or mechanic and spend hundreds of dollars in labor charges. Why?!? Is there some wonderful advantage to locating the thermostat behind the timing belt?
