G2 SAFETY FIRST
At AutoSpeed we are committed to our customers 110%! That means every product that we sell is designed and manufactured to the highest of standards. Our quality control is second to none, we constantly scrutinize our products to determine if there is room for improvement. Customer safety is our number one concern...
The original units were designed so that in the event of a severe impact one of two things should occur...
1. The thread engagement length in the transmission is such that the transmission threads would fail, thereby releasing the unit from the transmission
and/or
2. The 8mm diameter bolts used to support the center bar would shear releasing the unit from the transmission.
Our latest design has an even larger factor of safety designed-in...
In order to further increase occupant safety and ensure that the transmission has the opportunity to move in a downward direction, we have designed strategic failure areas in the web of the center bar. These chamfered kerfs will put the center bar in shear and cause it to break free from the end mounts. These relief kerfs do not affect the performance of the product in any adverse way.
Also added to the G2 are pass-through bushing bolt holes in the center bar to make installation even easier!
