Default Ive seen a few threads in here with pretty extensive logs, cool down times, flow. Id have to search

for em and im at work today. I think the test were done between, RS4, AWE and IPP. IIRC RS4s came out on top most times, and IPP were not much better than the stockers.

Look at the inner diameters of the hoses, inlets, and outlets. It's most basic fluid dynamics.

The AWEs are NOT plug and play. Cutting is also required.

Default ASP deserves an award for that product!:)

How long do we have to save up the $2k+? Does it come with a separate oil cooler, to possibly get rid of the one at the oil filter?

Default Just some thoughts on that perspective...

An intercooler shroud definitely channels air flow to the appropriate surface area for cooling while creating smooth transitions for any angled surfaces so that the flow does not become turbulent. Another function could be to increase velocity by tapering the shroud from inlet to intercooler, but I don't think that is applicable in our cars. The SMIC's in our platform are positioned recessed to the bumper and create the need for the shroud. If you look at the pics of the ASP FMIC, the intercooler meets right up to the bumper, utilizing the shape of the bumper cover to flow the air directy into the bar and plates.
In addition, if you look at the airflow as it enters the frontal portion of the car, it reacts to the surface area according to the aerodynamics of the body panels. The center portion of airflow goes up, down or through the car and the sides do the same but have the influence of going around the car. The shrouds probably help offset the lateral flow of that air which the auto manufacturer spent countless hours trying to design for drag coefficient. The front mount application does not suffer from the same and can utilize a scooping effect head on.
Besides...now we can use those ducts orginally intended for intercooler shrouds as ducts for brakes and intake!

Default I'll agree that the apr hoses flow better than stock/awe hoses

That's all I would say without having exact specs of both ICs.

Default Start savin your penny's now because with the initial response...

the first production units won't last long. I would say that February should be a good month to release them so that everyone has plenty of time to install them for the warmer months ahead.
The oil cooler does relocate to the drivers side area and should be an improvement over even the RS4 unit. I had an RS4 unit on previously and with the new one my oil temps were stuck @ 175 with several WOT pulls under 65-70 degree temps. Time and testing will tell, but until the temps are 90+ and I have had it on the track for a couple sessions, I won't be able to give complete and conclusive feedback.
