Also, the older fenders had a small square shaped side turn signal, not the rectangle one that came in the rest of the changes.
I think they changed the door handles in late 98 and the rear tail lamps (moved the reverse down to the 3rd row, and made the second row the turn signal), basically changed everything to how it would end for the B5.

I thought early production '98s, i.e. non-"98.5" in AW speak, still had the fender mounted badges a la '96 and '97 model years?
