Will metal polish remove surface rust on exhaust tips?

Default Will metal polish remove surface rust on exhaust tips?
I have rust forming on the one of the two factory exhaust tips. Just wondering how I can remove it (don't be smart and tell me to buy a new exhaust).

I've done it with polish and fine steel wool to have great results.

Try brass wool or VERY fine steel wool. Then polish.

Use a 0000 brass wool...it won't rust further...
