Thinking of buying an Avant. Would it work in a 2001 avant too?

Default There is no difference between a sedan and avant ECU
If you are jumping between years you may need to change a few things. A 2001.5 (M-Box) is interchangeable with a 2002 (T-Box) but if you revert to a 2001 you might need to recode the instrument cluster with VAG. Of course all of this is contingent upon staying with a 6-speed. If you switch to tip you will need to change your ECU completely.

straight swap 01.5 to 01.5/02. 01.5 to 01 will require a little VAGCOM lovin'
