Nope. I did exactly that. Just then replace the clutch.

What clutch are you riding out? I'm riding out my spec stage II currently.. and before that I really rode out stock clutch, LOL.

Default If it slips too much it can heat up the flywheel and get too many high spots.

It can also do damage if you wear it out too much and the tabs come thru. Same thing as when you run your brake pads too low.

Would a failing clutch make engine rpm go up in first gear but not boost?

Default It can slip in any gear. Pretty much RPMs rise but the car doesn't accelerate...

then the RPMs drop back to where they should be. Imagine if you needed to accelerate out of a dangerous situation and the clutch slipped. You'd try to get out of the way, but you wouldn't move.

is there anyway to tell how much life a clutch has left in it before it actually starts slipping?
