What are opinions on different winter tires out there? I live in Boulder CO and ski every weekend so I need winter tires. But, I commute 25miles each way 5 days a week in the front range so I would like to maintain some dry road performance. What's the tire to get? I'm using my stock S4 wheels.

I live in NJ/NY so for me either a Dunlop M2 or Vredestein Wintrac (v-rated).
Some people like the Michelin Alpin.
If you want a pretty good bias go to tirerack and look at the review ratings.
Also the Blizzaks are tanks through snow but some suggest that they sacrifice on the dry.

We have the same climate as you... I personnaly switch to 16 inches wheels and put some Blizzak. Only the 1 inch (from 17 to 16) would make a big difference.
