Default Thanks WMS & EPL for the answers. Up until today, I heard K04 DP's would work w/ RS6's...

...maybe hybrid? Just to clear this up for me, are the RS6 turbos that ASP and Moss do hybrids or straight? And the FI RS6 DP's you guys mentioned will work for either or just one type? Thanks.

Default By keeping the the DP mouth in similar size to exhaust wheel and seperate wastegate...

It SHOULD speed up the velocity of the exhaust gases. Faster exhaust velocity = quicker spool over open-mouth.

When the exhaust stream enters the open-mouth design, it's a much larger and cooler area... so exhaust gases will become more tubrulent. Turbulence just slows the velocity. Turbulence will become more rapid when the wastegate opens also.

There was a huge thread somewhere between these two. Tantrumwerks chimmed in, they sell FI parts.

Default full RS6 turbos need RS6 DP flanges

The turbine, hot side, has a different flange from the turbo to the DP that does the S4/RS4.

you need to be carefull when talking about hybrids. RS4, and RS6 turbos are both K04 based snails.

Generally when someone says K04 hybrids or K04\RS6 they are talking about RS4 snails with a different comp wheel.

A few people have run RS6 hybrids, meaning full RS6 turbos with an upgraded comp wheel.

Does that clear things up for you?

That clears up some ...so which ones are ASP and Moss using for their kits? Plain RS6?

Default ASP modifies the hot side of the OEM RS6 turbo with a K03/K04 flange so that they are bolt-ins for

those with stock manifolds and k03/k04 DPs.
