wonder how this compares to the speedmount?
For all of you that don't have one already it looks like a cheaper alternitive<ul><li><a href="http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/speedcom15.htm">Camera mount</a></li></ul>

ditto...baah :)
less than $35 in parts to built the mount (the ballhead being the most expensive part)
