Default Every RF chip has been completely different, different chips, frequencies, key protocols, everything

TI is trying to promote a generic chipset, hence the FUD attack against them.

That's only for the Securiloc PATS key. Audi doesn't use it AFIK.

Default Honest people honest.. agreed! I'm in the industry and I gotta say...

that the article was all over the place. They spoke about retail, automotive and p.o.s (point of sale). All three use different technologies and different encryption methods. I understand the article's intent, though, is that anything can be cracked. It's all a matter of time!

Default Yeah but once it's cracked or a method of access is found it becomes quickly "inadequate"....

I agree that it might be more than adequate for people who don't have the tools, knowledge, or ambition to "break in" but typically if there is a flaw in the encryption it will be found and with this wonderful internet thing, some kid in China now is totally aware of it.
