Default would blown rear shocks cause a suspension to 'bounce'?

my rear penske shocks are leaking and i noticed on the highway when i'm driving, the car feels like a pogo-stick.. it bounces all over the place. i personally adjusted the shocks so i know that they are adjusted correctly (to startupracings recommended settings). is this typically how blown shocks would respond? or is this typical of an aggressive setup like this?

Default When my vw scirocco had bad rear shocks thats what it did. I almost wrecked it once before I fixed

it when I was coming around a turn on an off ramp. My rear tire hit a pot hole making my rear suspension bounce which caused me to lose traction in the rear and my *** end went out and it took everything I had not to wreck and gain control.

I would get it checked!

Default Penske said they will fix them for free..

just sux that i have to take them out. i didn't know if this 'bounce' could have anything to do with the ride height.. i went a touch lower than the recommended settings. i think it's the shocks though. i hit these 'waves' on the highway and my car is boucing like a dirty *****.

Shocks damp natural oscillation of springs; lose the damping and springs will "bounce" a lot more.

Default i'd put money on the shocks being blown, my bilsteins did the same thing..

if there is that much visible leaking, they are def blown. It will feel like a new car after you replace them.

Default the oil is definately visible on the outside of the shock..

there's not a ton of oil, but enough to raise concern. when i wipe my finger across the leaking shock area i have oil on my finger as if i did the same with the oil dipstick. i will replace the shocks and hopefully that fixes this bouncing pogo-stick issue.
