Default wow...i've been under a rock, but the B6 1.8T's kinda blow

figuratively...and literally if one ups the power ante...
are all 1.8T's like this now or just B6 A4's? i guess one just has to look for teh ULEV sticker...

hopefully the upcoming 2.0T FSI's are more robust to upping the ante...**crosses B6 a4 1.8T off the bottom barrel of the consider list for next car**

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4b6/msgs/134627.phtml</a

Default i didn't know that either. I guess all B6 1.8ts are ULEV:( I wonder how hard the swap to a 2.7t

would be into a b6 a4.

Default i've always said there should be an A4 2.7T trim in teh B6...won't happen most likley though

the 3.2 V6 (which is actually a 3.1 Liter) already makes more horsepower (255hp)...
too bad it won't have NEAR the low and mid range grunt of the 2.7T that makes the 2.7T so fun to drive...and oh yeah, its flat out gonna be slower too...my prediction.

as we all know peak hp sells cars (BOO!!), so there is no use in a B6 a4 2.7T...
personally i think if they dropped in some ko4's (remember they cost no more) in a 2.7T A6 or A4 and upped teh ante to around 300hp stock..THAT should be the S-line car...too bad a 300HP 2.7T would be frighteningly close the the B6 S4's performance numbers(and probably faster once chipped)...so that won't happen.

Default Ya know...when I had my B6 A4, I had it for the looks not the speed or power. You kinda...

have to go into that car "knowing" that you can't produce a crapload of hp. I wanted it for the looks! I had it chipped with exhaust and that's it. Just enough to get that 10 ton body going, definately not to race around like my current S. Talking to my buddy last night...I want to build an 87-90 A2 bodystyle 2-door Jetta with a 2.7T in it!!! That would be fun and rare! HAHA

Default true, i guess i fi wer looking into it seriously i would have foudn this out anyway...

but the B6 1.8T is embarassingly slow and barely adequete chipped...
i would have thought all teh 1.8T B5 mods coudl be done...now i know....not a chance i'd risk puttinga big turbo on there.

Default Yeah, I had a 2002 and "supposedly" APR was making a kit for it and so was Neuspeed...

I don't know if those ever came out, but to me it wasn't worth the money for the power increase. Of course when you chip those cars, it makes a considerable difference to stock. You can "feel" the boost kick in on those cars, not like at least mine it's so smooth it doesn't "feel" as fast, but I know it is! I hate to say it, but I liked the interior in my B6 a lot more than my B5! I miss that!
