the c32 is like any car with high hp and rear wheel drive off the line...massive wheelspin. the S4 was too quick off the line and the C32 couldn't recover after the launch. i think if we had raced past 70 mph the benz would have caught up.

...the car mags report that for the best time in that car, you can barely raise the revs over idle when you launch it; otherwise, you'll get too much spin off the line to get a good time. Here's what Road & Track said in their September 2001 road test notes for the C32:
Best acceleration in the C32 comes with holding the engine at 1500 rpm, then stepping hard on the throttle. Even with just 500 more rpm, the AMG will have too much wheelspin off the line for a quick time.
Tell the guy with the C32 to follow this formula...he probably lost at least 1/2 second to spin, and possibly more if he was really revving it high when he let off the brake.

...you've got to be careful not to rev too high when you launch those things; otherwise, it's lotsa spin and slower time. That's one advantage of AWD...as long as you don't bog it, you get that slingshot launch.
