X-sauce with MBC only....should the MBC cause acceleration to be much rougher? b/c it is.

Yes, programmed for the tiny k03s, which is why it tapers up top.

Default ahh so by comparing the compressor map to the taper you can see what kind of "factor of safety"...

the tuner is employing.

GIAC tapers the lastest in the RPM band of all the big name chips and MTM tapers the earliest AFAIK.

Default cool...thanks for the info...ill be adding a MBC and boost gage to my car soon...

this information will help me set the mbc correctly and understand the logs as well

But, the MBC alone wont fix the taper.

Default yup...as long as the software is requesting taper...it will exist.

unless of course you prevent the software from asking for taper or make it so that the software doesnt have to ask for taper (perhaps with a fmic).

im thinking that if the ECU could request taper because of intake temp rises...possible?

Default But doesn't the S4 make more max boost on hot than cold days? --->

I think, the taper is purposely built into the ECU's requested boost map, because, at WOT near red line, the compressor begins to operate beyond its max efficiency region, where maintaining max boost with increasing revs demands higher and higher turbo speeds. Removing the taper may require re-programming the ECU's map at the turbo's peril.

Default i totally agree with what your saying...ill call the preprogrammed taper "static taper"...

im wondering if there is some dynamic tapering going on as well.

on hot days i wonder if max boost is higher, but the taper is more severe...
