Having a sobriety test which you passed, or having your name in the local paper for not passing the sobriety test. You got very lucky!
I hope that you aren't as lucky next time and end up in jail, have your license suspended, and have to ride the bus everywhere. How's that for being embarassed??
It's officers like that that I respect. He did his job and everyone on the road was assured that you weren't another drunk dumbass out to ruin a life.

intoxicated isn't the point. Alcohol affects judgement and reaction time PERIOD. I'm 6'1 210 and I received a DUI 8 years ago. I passed every field test also, but because he smelled alcohol (and I was under 21) it was instant DUI. Didn't matter that I only blew a .02 on the breathalyzer (Similar to swallowing mouthwash as you said).
You know how much a DUI can **** you? 1 year license suspension, $1400 in straight fines, $600 worth of mandatory MAD and AA meetings for 3 months, plus it stays on your record for 7 years ( at least here in Cali).
When I'm saying it's stupid to drive with any alcohol in your system I'm not just trying to look out for other ppl's safety, but yours too. If you're too ignorant to realize what your doing is wrong, then keep doing it, hopefully next time you'll get a less friendly cop who smells alcohol and instantly gives you a DUI.

BUT you were UNDERAGE, with alcohol, minimal as it may have been, on your breath. I would imagine your state has a no tolerance policy against underage drinking. If a cop pulled over someone of age, they wouldn't get a ticket just because he 'smelt' alcohol.
