Default Yee-freaking-ha!

After a couple weeks laid up with a broken right collarbone, I recovered enough from surgery today to take the S4 which had been doing way too much driveway time for a little spin. She has about 600 miles on her (in 6 weeks -- d'oh!) so I decided to give her a little run.

I know most of the roads here in the bay area from riding my bicycle, so I decided to give her a rip up Redwood Gulch, which is about 2 miles of 15 to 20% uphill, and damn twisty. I'll just say I'm pretty amazed how strongly this car will pull when you downshift to 2nd and gas it around a hairpin corner. Talk about a sh*t eating grin!

Then I headed up the top 3 miles of Hwy 9 to Skyline, which passed about 6 times faster than I can do it on a bike, and north on Skyline and down Page Mill (where I had to cool my jets as I never cease to be amazed how slow people can drive down twisty roads) and came home before I *really* got myself in trouble.

I'll have to say, I made a good choice in getting this car...

You needed surgery for a broken collerbone, or did you have more serious injuries?

It was in 3 pieces (with about 1.5 inches of overlap) and one of the pieces was split down the middle, and it was causing my whole arm to go numb. I wasn't too happy with the state of affairs, so I had 'em put a plate in. It doesn't feel so great right now, but at least I work again!
