You know what's funny about those lower door/panel bulges on the B6 S4?

They have absolutely no relevence to the exterior styling and are in no way functional.
I realize they are meant to mimic the lower door runners on the S6/RS6 (and A6 4.2), but on those models the trim is functional -- wider track means tires are pushed out further from the body, resulting in greater exposure to damage from debris -- and aesthetically coordinated with the bulged fender arches.
On the new S4 ... they just look like JC Whitney bolt ons. :-/
