Default You would think that the non-fouler O2 mod would be pretty easy, but........

First, I went through a half dozen of the damn things drilling them out. Finally got a set together and installed it. My block 46 time was a whopping .01 sec, and read B1-S2 OK. Great! Then a CEL popped-up. B1-S2 circuit malfunction! Just perfect! I cleared it and went for a drive watching the O2 voltage. Never moved off of .05v. I guess that the ECU thought that meant the O2 was bad. My first thought was that I fubared the sensor somehow. I removed the non-foulers and installed the O2 directly back into the pipe. O2 worked great. Same readings as the other sensor. Anyone else have that problem after the mod?? Also, what type of brazing rod did you use? I bought some nickel alloy, and the old Mapp gas just doesn't want to get hot enough to melt it very well. Maybe a copper alloy will work better? Any suggestions for drilling these damn things out??

Default I planned on using RMcQ's writeup. What are you brazing?

Brazing the two pieces together because the 19/32" leaves the threads soooo thin they break.

I went that route once also. 1/2" bit, then a dremel.

Default Are you using stock rear O2's?

I had no problems with this mod when I had stock O2's. I used 1/2" drill bit and then reamed it out a little extra with the drill bit (I said reamed!). Another option is Pre-cat Snooping O2 simulators from Baker electronix. EdyJun's directory has a link to it. I have been running them for a month now with no CEL. Plus warrantied for a year, and you'll never have to mess with your rear O2's again.
