Default I didn't braze anything. Mine work perfectly so far, but long term durability is suspect.

The walls of the antifouler do get very thin after drilling.

ImolaRocket: you are using 1 drilled antifouler and one unmodified one, right?

One drilled and one right out of the package.

Default Any chance the wiring is damaged and by changing back to no foulers you repositioned wiring

and it made its connections again.

Didn't we hears something before about the Zoldman's not working with anti-foulers? I couldn't understand what the reason for that would be.

Default I used a generic lincoln bare Silicon Bronze rod + whatever flux I have, with a O/A torch.

Picked up an open 10lb box of rod for $5 or so at the welding shop last summer.

Didn't even bother switching out the cutting torch for a brazing tip ;P

Maybe mapp+oxy would do it for you?

Default I changed back and forth a couple of times.....

With...Bad, without...Good. The big question about the Zoldmans was whether they were a little bigger than stock. Supposedly they are the same size.

Default I just picked-up a pack of bronze/copper brazing rod at HD at lunch time......

It has a little lower melting point. Also hit AutoZone for another pack of non-foulers, and they had an older package of brass ones, instead of the pot-metal or whatever the newer ones are. I also got a pack of aluminum rod, with an even lower melting point. We'll see.

Default The aluminum probably won't stick very well, practice on your old scraps and see if it wets well

enough to have any strength. Also make sure all your surfaces are clean and bright before starting.

Default Zoldman O2's won't fit!!! At least not easily.

They are just slightly longer than stock and when I tried, I couldn't ever get them to thread cleanly. Now I see why you've killed so many sets of anti-foulers.

Default

Should be just like soldering copper, just hotter, and I've done that hundreds of times.

Really. How many sets did you go through?
