ECS Tuning has a good description of how to check which offset you need in the case of the HP2 calipers (HP2 is the large dual-piston type). I do not know all the different types of calipers offered on the S4 (my Bentley is for an A6).

I believe ATE is the other caliper type (single piston), but was only on the 1999 B5 S4 in Europe. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
