I've been on the fence about tuning my car for a few months. My biggest concerns were, reliability, driveability, and warranty. Unfortunately, I love speed and just could not leave my car stock especially after getting destroyed by the Unitronic car. Once I decided to move forward, I had another choice to make - Unitronic or APR. At this time GIAC still did not have anything to offer. After speaking with both Uni and APR, I decided to make the choice to go with APR. An Audi dealership flashed me and that went a long way in my book although they didn't guarentee anything about retaining my warranty in the event something catastrophic happened. APR also has a 30 day return policy if I was not satisfied.
Last week I dropped my car off and picked it up the next day. Upon initial thoughts, the car felt completely stock and slow. I drove an hour and felt no immediate change. After thinking about it, I went and picked a map (93 oct) and drove again. Within a minute, I instantly felt all extra 100+hp and torque. I imagine the dealer must have defaulted to the stock map and that is why I did not feel a difference.
Fast forward to this weekend, and I decided to go to the track to see what it could do. My expectations were not high as I know sometimes tuners only post ideal conditions for results. I went with a buddy and told him on the way there that I would be happy just breaking in to the 11s. The weather wasn't ideal (71°) and I had to just just over an hour to the track. I went immediately to tech and within 10 mins I was already lining up on the track. There was a guy in a s/c f-150 that told me he runs 12.0@116 so I was actually a little nervous about getting beat by a pickup truck.
Tree lights up, I rev up LC, and bam! Car launched flawlessly and I instantly saw the F-150 in my rearview. After crossing the finish line, I looked down and was at 122 mph which suprised me. Still, I did not expect to run better than maybe an 11.8 @ 116. My car stock only ran a best of 12.3@110.8 (trapped a little on the low side).
I go to the gate and got my time slip and couldn't believe my eyes. I screamed WOOHOO prob loud enough for my wife to hear at home an hour away.

Awesome trap speed -- I think that's the best I've seen so far for an S6? My worry is not basic reliability of the motor or transmission from the extra power, but rather other issues that might creep up with the motor or transmission that Audi could easily deny based on your TD1 flag. For example, I recently got a "Exhaust Camshaft Adjuster A cylinder 5 malfunction" error that I could see Audi blame on a tune.
Regarding the code, I felt a hiccup in power (slight jerk) while trolling through my neighborhood at about 20 mph, which prompted me to check for fault codes. If I continue to experience the problem I'll take it to the dealer, otherwise I'm going to wait for my 15K service in another 3K miles.
