Hi everybody,
I have been always wanted to have an Audi A6. I have 80 miles commute everyday (400 miles per week). I have been thinking about buying a used CPO, probably 2014 model. however the car sales man who is a friend of mine keeps telling me "you are better off to lease one". how reliable is A6? can it handle 20K miles per year? how much shall I set aside for fixing/mechanical problems?I don't mind setting aside $1000 per year for necessary fixes, etc.
If I buy a used car with 40K miles on it, can it run for another 100K miles? thanks

If properly cared for you should be able to get well over 100K miles from an A6. I bet the 3.0 would be a better option for you than the 2.0. I would stay away from a 20K + mile per year lease, it will not be very cost effective.

FWIW, a colleague of mine ran an '01 C5 A6 Wagon with the 2.8 engine for 315,000 miles and he is hard on cars. Turned the car into an indie shop 3 years ago who uses the car as a service loaner to this day!
