The June 2013 issue of Motor Trend has a 1 page blurb about the 2014 Cadillac CTS. With the ATS filling the gap of a smaller 3-series competitor, Cadillac has grown the CTS to compete in the 5-series market.
The new CTS is 5 inches longer, lower by 0.8 inch and weighs only 3600 pounds. It will have a 3.6L twin-turbo V6 with 420 HP and 430 lb-ft torque. Very nice on paper indeed.
And here is a link to a similar story on Autoblog.

Not really, if their power rating is accurate. Everyone knows that Audi is fudging the power number for both versions of the 4.0TT. If the S6/7 version of that mill is actually making 460-480 hp, then the specific output/litre is approximately the same between the Audi and Caddy engines.

A friend who spends a good bit of time in FL saw one at some exclusive reveal in conjunction w/ a BJ auction...if I am recalling this accurately. He said it looked very good on paper. He has good cred with me since they keep a CTS in FL, even though he has a primarily Porsche garage (GT3RS, Cayenne, 993 Turbo). Like me, he grew up in the muscle car era, and does not summarily discount Detroit iron.
I scoff at uglified Caddies...ever since their rediculous Nurburgring commercial a while back in which they named the few other cars that had at that time eclipsed 8 minutes...except for naming the RS4. Jerks.

Don't like the exterior or interior look of the CTS. Raw power numbers don't mean anything to me. Too many (outside of AW) are too attracted by horsepower but don't consider the real engineering performance in German (e.g. Audi, Porsche, BMW, MB), ride feel. etc. No domestic brands have come close to an Audi interior.
My 2 cents.
