Default Need Wax Recommendations

Guys just picked up my S6 this week and I was extremely disappointed with the way the dealer prepped the car. There is a wax on it, but there are still surface stains from trees, water spots, etc. Also the paint on the lower body half is rough.

I want to strip the wax, clay bar it and give it a good coat of wax. I have used griots show wax, but it doesn't last.

Any recommendations on a good wax that doesn't leave calk behind, easy to apply and lasts. Anything that can be picked up at a local automotive shop??

thanks

I would recommend the following 1) Clay bar of your choice. 2) Meguiars Ultimate Polish or Compound depending how severe the defects you are attempting to remove. 3) & finally Meguiars Ultimate Wax paste or liquid your choice. All these products are easy to use and locate. The wax offers excellent durability and shine.

Also use 3M painters tape on exterior black rubber, plastic trim, in order to avoid excess product on the above areas.

You can obtain a large tin of Meguiar's Ultimate (paste) Wax at W*mart for $20. Good durability, super glossy, super e-z to work with

I use P21s and you really do not need to clay bar a new car

You would be amazed how much above surface contamination a new car paint surface can have. Audi takes steps to prevent paint contamination as much as possible when their vehicles leave the factory. Once they sit in the dealership the paint surface is exposed just like any other vehicle. I highly recommend a vehicle paint surface be clayed prior to the application of a cleaner, polish, or wax.

Well guys I went with the Ultimate Wax by Maguire's and I really like it! It goes on easy but what really nice is how easy it comes off and does not streak or leave any type of haze, etc. It is nice. Now let's see how long it lasts.

I did clay bar the car. Just moving your hand lightly over it you could feel the contaminant's on the paint. I also used the wax to do my wheels. The brake dust is crazy and I figured it might help.

Now it's clean the way it is suppose to be!
