Two reasons, Rob. First and foremost: I've modded nearly every car I've owned (hell, I've got a 400 rwhp Miata as my "fun" car), so an easily modded car becomes an irresistible money pit for me. Secondly: The B5 has a reputation for multiple failures of OEM components when modified on the cheap. Sure, it can be reliable if the mods are carefully selected and implemented, but then we get back to point one again.
