Default S6 Mileage?

So what is the real world mileage for an S6? The current model is incredibly good looking. I hope to find a nice CPO unit in a year or so.

My average mileage is 19.7 mpg (U.S. gallons). High has been 24.1 and low was 17.4. At a constant 75 mph or so, I can see close to 30 mpg. Pretty good for a 4,200 lb AWD sedan with a twin-turbo V8.

See the fuelly banner below for my fuel mileage history. I average about 15-16 MPG with mostly city driving. My average highway mileage is probably in the 25-26 MPG range.

My S6 mileage is practically identical to my 2002 A6 2.7T manual transmission, about 19.5-20.5 mpg. I drive 18 miles to work each way, usually during low traffic time periods with 1/3 of the trip being interstate.

I should add that my one-way commute to work is only 5 miles so my motor hasn't even come up to temperature by the time I shut the car off. I average 12 MPG when the car is cold and this really drags my overall MPG down.

Im like this^ guy. My commute is 9 miles each way. Im averaging 17.08mpg on my >40mph drive. Really is a waste on this car but at least when Im stuck in traffic, Im stuck in a car thats faster than anyone elses lol.

I usually average 23 mpg on the 22 mile trip into work, 20 mpg on the way home (uphill) - this is all while "enjoying" the drive. One day in some bad weather with a lighter throttle and speed on the way into work I averaged 26 mpg.

I also averaged almost 27 mpg on a trip back from CT to NJ. The current average for the car is 20.7 mpg.

Note this is all the computer readings. I'm with Hyper - when I am stuck in the NJ traffic on Rt 80 I am one of the fastest cars stuck in the traffic

I drive 45 miles each way on I-78 in NJ to NYC with an average highway speed of 75mph. I'm on the highway in about 3 miles with no traffic lights between me and the highway. With that my avg per the computer is 23mpg. I have the AC on but tried it with it off one day and it really made no difference per the computer. I use Shell 93 octane gas and I have 19" Bridgestone RE970 all season tires which I think might cut down the mileage a little. Can't see much better than what I'm getting.

I tried using cruise control one way set at 67.5mpg and the difference was maybe an additional 1.25mpg. In fairness the i-78 commute has a fair amount of elevation changes.

I drove i287 and the NJ turnpike route a couple of times about 47 miles vs the 45 and I averaged 24.5mpg because of the longer flatter terrain.

Asking about mileage with a twin turbo V8 is like asking about the dietary benefits of a Twinkie. If you can afford the car, you can afford to fill it up. Drive it like you stole it, gas mileage be damned.

Perhaps, but I like to think of the S6 as the Diet Coke of junk food. Hold on a second, I can't stand the taste of Diet Coke. Wait a minute, the S6 is the light beer of...nope, can't stand that either.

Never mind...
