"been in the system"
Just heard from my local Audi dealer my car has a date and now it's 12/24. I was told that demand is higher than expected however I have been in the system since 6/23. He said it could move up again and they have a launch car arriving in port today (8/30), but it's already sold and AoA has not released the S6 yet so it could be further delayed until the release is official.
And here I thought I might be 4-5 weeks away.

I haven't put down a deposit. Strangely, they haven't asked either. June 21st, actually is my RTM date, so it must have been put in the system even before that. I only have a commission tracking number at this point.

S6 date moved up
ETA now moved to 9/17 from 10/1 as of today. Either way - <1 month - this wait has been killing me! Any reccos for winter tires? i actually have to start thinking about it now.... Anyone else get updates?

Update on my car delivery status:
I now have all the dates, current as of this morning 9/5:
Order entry 4/24
Vehicle assigned 4/24
Release to mfg 6/21
Release to production 8/7
Factory inspected 8/30 -- yay it's been built!
Departure port arrived 9/3
Ship load est 9/10 (was 9/11)
Port arrive est 9/24 (was 9/27)
Carrier est 9/28 (was 10/3)
Dealer delivery est week 10/8 (was 10/15)
FWIW, I seem to recall my dealer saying arrival "port" was in the northeast, New Jersey maybe? Which is why it's >1 wk for delivery to my dealer in the southeast.

Audi uses Davisville, RI and Brunswick, GA for east coast US ports. It takes about a week once in port to go through customs, inspection, port accessory installs, etc. Then however long by carrier to the dealer.

I don't want to rain on your parade, but mine took almost 10 days from ship unload to dealer which is only one hour from the port. Best bet is to plan for a later date and hopefully be pleasantly surprised if it comes sooner. Hard to do though. Believe me, I know.
