Sales Mix of S6 vs S7

These are probably questions that Snagit or Hyper could answer, but I'd like any and all input. The sales report from Audi each month lists the sales mix for Audi S performance variants. I believe the S7 percentage is higher than the S6 each month, and by a significant factor, which is surprising to me for a few reasons: 1) my impression of the general activity I see on these forums leads me to believe there are a greater number of S6s; 2) the S7 is more costly, which should lead to more S6s; and 3) the S6 is more practical (5 seats vs 4 seats), yet more stealth and less polarizing (not sure if this is a net positive or negative to overall sales of S6s vs S7s).
So my questions are: a) are there more S6s or S7s sold in the US to date (please share empirical data if you have it) and b) are there more S6s or S7s sold each month (please share empirical data if you have it)
Here is September's sales report from Audi:
"Sales mix for Audi S performance variants finished the month at 13.9% for the S4 sedan; 32.7% for the S5/ RS 5; 6.0% for the S6; 15.7% for the S7; 13.2% for the S8; 22.5% for the TTS / TT RS and TTS Roadster and 6.4% for the SQ5 crossover."

You really need to know how many of each car are being produced per model year to validate your statements.

I was originally going to get an S7 but I wanted the bench seat and after looking at it long enough I started to like it less. The S6 is the perfect mix for me. Maybe people buying the performance cars look for flash first. Not sure if this is a shared mentality that leads to more or less sales but I'm also curious about this.

Sales mix %'s aren't very useful without absolute numbers. If there were 1,000 S6's sold in the first 6 months of the year, and 200 S7's in that same period, but in recent months there were only 200 S6's sold and still 200 S7's sold, then the % mix would shift dramatically towards the S7 but in absolute, there would still be many more S6's on the road.

Based on 1682 A6s sold, 6.0% were S6s, or 101 total.
Based on 623 A7s sold, 15.7% were S7s, or 98 total.
So for September 2013 the volume was similar for the 2 models. However, I noticed in August 2013, S6s outsold S7's by 165 to 113 and it appears that August was a more typical month than September.
Based on the monthly A6 to A7 historical sales ratio, there are definitely more S6s on the road than S7s, probably 1.5-2.0x more. If someone has the actual total numbers sold of each to date I'd still be curious to see them.

Since more A6s are sold than A7s, logic would follow that generally, more S6s are sold than S7s.
Why this is important (other than to Audi), I have no idea. Doesn't seem like this should be a purchase decision factor.

Yeah, I wouldnt put all my faith in those reports. This whole year we have only gotten and sold 3 S7's. We have gotten and sold at least 12 S6's. The A7/S7's are very difficult to get hold of these days, their production has slowed down significantly. There is still strong demand but the supply is small. On my lot currently I have two S7 and two S6 available.

I was originally keen on buying an S7... however at the time, S7's were almost impossible to find (unless you ordered) and the ones that were in stock or not spoken for were going for $10K+ over MSRP. I ended up getting my S6 for a bit below MSRP, and given the base price difference between the two, the effective difference in price between the two was well over $20K. I could not justify that difference and in the end, I love my S6 so it all worked out :-).
