Default Summer and All weatherTires for S6

I was wondering if people can suggest me awesome tires for the following categories

1. Summer
2. All weather tires

For summer tires performance is preferred but it should not be like 15000 mile tread wear...that hurts!!! I am not going to track my car..

thx

Suggest you go to Tire Rack's website and check out the tires available in your desired size. You can find reviews and surveys on the site, and they'll oftentimes also have results of comparison tests between makes.

Where do you live? I'm a big proponent for having specialized tires for summer and winter use. Here, in the Great White North, that means performance tires for the summer (which generally are superior in the wet than all-seasons) and dedicated winter tires (with the mountain/snowflake pictogram on the sidewall). All-seasons generally are a big compromise - not that great in the summer and not that great in the winter.

Note that, even if you don't see much snow where you live, winter tires are a better choice if it gets cold. The compound used remains pliable (i.e. grippy), whereas all-seasons start becoming hockey puck-like in comparison once temps drop to 7C (45F).

For me, I use Nokian Hakkapeliitta Rs on my car and they're fantastic. They are also relatively quiet and handle decently on dry roads.

I agree. However if you decide to go with dedicated winter tires (better in the cold than all-season even if you don't get much snow) I recommend the Blizzak LM-60. They have been great so far in the colder weather and I have not lost too much performance over the Pirelli's.

The winter tires I chose are the Hankook W310 255/40 r19 100V VSB. No snow yet, but the tires are quiet and fine when driving up and down the mountain curves with the temp under 45. Glacier White S6.

For all-seasons I highly recommend the Conti DWS. Fantastic in every condition.

+1 on the Blizzaks. I hate all-seasons on any kind of sports or sporty car, way too much of a compromise.

Oh, and def +1 on the Mich Super Sports, loved them on my R8.
