I agree, although many in Europe that drive longer distances will prefer the lower fuel costs with diesel. And most reviews have noted that the fuel consumption, given the performance, is very low in actual use. Which is rare. And 700Nm of torque is going to be noticeable.

But not many potential owners will be thrilled at paying S6 prices, and getting the same engine as in an S4.

Although Thomas' review is the least positive one I have read - but then he's better on details than driving dynamics. Many of the UK publications, which historically label Audi as boring and predictable, have said the ride / handling balance of the new S6 and S7 is excellent. Given the lighter weight of the 2.9 TT gasoline engine, this version should be even better.

But isn't the engine in the S6 going to be the 2.9L in the RS5, rather than the 3.0T in the S4?

Not getting the newer models then they all from 2019 and 2020 have fake exhaust so im not interested. Then is expensive to lease or purchase no way i'll stay with my A8.

The North American models with the 2.9L V6 do not have a fake exhaust. That was on the A6/A7 ROW with petrol engines and the S6/S7 in Europe with the diesel engines.

Yes, the earlier comments were referring to the situation in Europe, and the review being discussed - where the S4 and S6 share the same diesel engine. Countries outside of Europe have gasoline engines. Get with the program 😂

The global production number split will be around 50/50 diesel vs gasoline for the S models.

All US A6 2019 and looks like 2020 have fake exhausts. I popped mine out to see. Looks like a real easy mod when I decide to cut off the down turn portion of the exhaust and add a short straight pipe. I can lead it too the fake exhaust opening. I plan to do this after warranty however...

That is true for the A6, but not the S6/S7.

Yes, The S4 and S6 have V6 engines -- there ends the similarity. The S6 gets the RS5 twin-turbo V6 -- more HP, more torque. The S6 is 444HP the S4 is 349HP.
