Wait, so the S7 has front and rear views with the corner views, but not the 360 degree top-down view?
If this is the case, how is the "overhead" view displayed on the MMI screen?
Does anyone have pictures?

Wow that is pretty lame, especially when you have the red lines that show where the car is heading. (But you don't know where it is actually heading due to the missing images around the car.)
I wonder why Audi gave the actual top-down view only to the A6/S6 but not to the A7/S7, considering the technology should work identically on the two models.

My dealer talked to their Audi rep and the rep told them it was something to do with the way the mirrors were designed on the A7/S7 that made it impossible to do top down. I think the A7 and something else like the Toureg are unable to have top down currently.

It's coming for the 2014 model year (at least rumored via other forums.)

It was just added to the 2013 A6/S6 this year, it was not part of the 2012 option list, btw.

I see that you were considering this vehicle, however you were concerned with why the 2013 Audi S7 does not have the Top View Camera System. It basically comes down to the design of the vehicle. If you notice in the Audi S6 and S8 versions, the mirrors are mounted on the glass part of the door, while the Audi S7 has the mirrors mounted on the door itself. This plays a significant role on the camera system, and why the Audi S7 only has the Corner View.

There is no current information available if whether or not the Audi S7 will ever have the top view in the near future, unless the design changes.

As much as I miss the top view, I hope they don't move the mirrors off the doors and ruin the design. I'm sticking with the S7. If I can't back up my car with 6 cameras and 8 sensors, 2 more cameras may not be much more helpful!

My wife has the top view camera on her X5 and I have to say the Audi one is much more impressive from a clarity and general information perpsective. Her 2011 just doesn't have the detail the A6 one has.

Also, from the B&O perspective I will say I have a premium Bose in my current G37x and I listened to the A6 version before ordering and I did opt for the B&O. I just cannot imagine getting another muddy sounding system on a car that expensive. I know it is probably more than it's worth but so is anything people tend to buy that is not needed. We don't need to drive Audi vehicles we choose to. So why not get what we want in it.
