Not the engine, or the design, or the seats...cup holders, we're talkin bout cup holders...

I don't go around flashing my new ride but plenty have seen it...and none mentioned the cup holders. While they aren't made for huge drinks I'm in no rush to have a huge drink in my brand new car anyways.

I'm no fan of the cupholders, but I'm at a loss for how they could have been done differently while still maintaining the excellent placement and ergonomics of the shifter (aka wrist-rest) and the MMI wheel. I sat in a Q5 today and saw how the cupholders are just in front of the armrest. That's even worse because they would be in the way of your arm. So I guess it could be worse.

Forget the cupholder, place this under the seat and have as much liquid as you need!

Straw included!

THANK YOU!!! a huge believer in being a minimalist!! Plenty of room for my SBUX grande or venti drink here.. I am a cyclist & a good friend said I needed the SB, I ditched my SB order for a cab, will put on a hitch mount bike rack as soon as hitches are available, and just how much shizz do I need for a bike trip?? so happy to be in a place in life where i can have less...
and as a scrawny triathlete, I was wondering how the average americano fits in these seats with the bolsters really holding them in... Cue to me pulling up to a cool Porsche turbo at deli to get my kid a sammi a few days ago and the guy driving it smoking a stogey and at least 50lbs overweight...
i haven't dranken a coffee yet in my car, but I am sure it's fine!

In the MKII Q5, you can't access the USB ports with anything in the cupholders... WHY AUDI lol

They are perfectly fine for cans and most cups... when you start getting into huge 32oz+ cups, its borderline.

Definitely not a deal breaker for me.
I have a super tall coffee thermo I bring to work, there is a slot in the door pockets that is perfect for that. Seems to me that the cup holders on the S5 A5 was an after thought.
