There is no low port but there is a low "switch" under the top left of the hood. I myself have almost no pressure in the system and am thinking of installing a low pressure port in the tubing up there. I have not had the time to check it out but think that it will work.
Around me they were going to charge and hr of labor ($79) plus the cost of the fluid, being that I have a small leak I decided not to waste my money.
On a side question, does anyone now if the auto climate control nows the exact temperature of the cold air and the hot or does it just assume that they are at the correct temperatures and adjusts accordingly?

You can add to the high side when the vehicle is off. When the compressor is NOT running and the vehicle is off there is NO high or low side. ITS ONE SIDE.

There is a service port, Its under the hood on the passenger side near the windshield. There is a black plastic cover over it, if you follow the the refrigerant lines up toward the windshield you'll see it. There is a low pressure switch attached to it (a clip with 2 wires on it). If your gonna convert it over to 134a make sure its completly empty of R12 first. Please dont try and charge it from the high side.

Exactly DO NOT Charge it from the high side.
USE THE HIGH SIDE PORT TO ADD FREON, WITH THE ENGINE OFF.
Dunno why everyone is so scared to add freon to the high side port. WHEN THE ENGINE IS OFF, BOTH HIGH AND LOW SIDE ARE THE SAME...I have done it many of cars with great results
