Default MMI Screen Repair Instructions

This one was pulled out from the car and screen was removed, but none of these should be done. This procedure can be done inside the car without unplugging any wires.

If you need the gear PM me. If you already have one just go ahead.

So that's what the dealership did for my broken gear and charged me $1000 for it. LOL, Looks like with a little time and patience almost anybody could change this themselves.

I took my gear out and am having trouble meshing the gears back in together.

And how are you supposed to screw the MMI screen back in? Isn't the wood cover at the top in the way?

My string for my motor is loose as well.

This string should be tight? This is to prevent vibration?

Can you explain a bit more that meshing together problem? May be some picture?

You should not take apart screen at the first place, so screw it back before you synchronize lid and screen. Last moment to do that is before you put the motor back. Somewhere half way between closed and opened there is a position where you can reach with screwdriver and tight those screws.

Can you explain what string you are talking about?
