Default No Owners Manual

Just picked up a 2013 A8 3.0L TSFI from a local dealer. The carfax and background all came in clean, and its showing a badge for regular service from a dealer in LA, however the owners manual and essentially anything that was in the glove box from the factory is missing.
I have all of the contents for the trunk, including the cargo net, spare, and spare wheel tools, but the fact that the owners manual is missing is really bugging me. I've found one on ebay and intend to buy it but it makes me wonder what else is missing that i dont know about.
Over all the car rides like a dream, and i couldn't be happier with her, but any insights for this newbie would be appreciated.

The standard owners manual would come in a black leather (faux perhaps) case. It would also have an MMI manual and warranty/service booklet. In that booklet would be the official build sheet with all the option and mechanical specification codes. I believe these were all included up until 2016, when I think they started loading the owners manual into the MMI.

You can put your VIN in this Audi site and download a complete owner's manual.

Yep, a guess is maybe your car passed through an auction. Or, prior owner... Not the first time I've seen this, by a long shot. In plain English, I suspect sleaze ***** often figure it is worth $35-50 to strip them from the car and sell them separately. No ethics. If you must buy on EBay, find the complete one for your year--all the books, case, etc.

The case w/ books fits cleanly in a cubbyhole in the top part of the glove box. Make sure you didn't miss it there by any chance--it does NOT need to be placed in the bigger bin part of the glove box with the set up.

For the on line one, I haven't tried it lately, but it at least used to be online only--not downloadable.

The cubbyhole at the top part of the glove box may also contain the lug nut key needed to get the wheels off the car. Mine was hidden there and I didn't find out til the tech came out to the car and pointed it out to me; you can't see it from the driver's seat, and it didn't occur to me to get into the passenger seat for a better look. Lessons learned.

However, I have not found a way to “download” download it on any device for ready access. I have to go into the Audi Owners Manual website each time, enter the VIN and then temporarily download the manual. I think it may be because it is an interactive manual in that anytime there’s a page number showing, you can click on the number to go directly to the page. If you have figured out how to actually download to a device, please share. Thank you!

I found 2 A8L, just wondering if it is more important to get the one with the paperwork or no paperwork?
