Default Suspension fault service mode error

Howdy

Tried playing with the suspension height settings found in this post. Some of the steps(4,5, and 8) listed aren’t present in OBDEleven that I can see, and now my car is stuck in a fault with the air suspension and says it’s in service mode after I skipped those steps and did the rest of them. Would love some advice. :/. Fault codes are B200300. One is static and one is intermittent.

note: I couldn’t finish the process as the active level control functions started taking errors after I adjusted the rear suspension by 20mm

Did you backup OEM settings? If so, you should be able to revert back.

I didn’t read the post from 2014 you linked.
Are you still having issues, do you still need assistance? Try this and let me know what happens.

I came across this YouTube video, then checked my own coding via OBDApp and again via OBDeleven and have indeed confirmed that changing these values will indeed lower your car.

watch this video.

Here are the steps for the Q8.

74 Chassis Control- Adaptation
Body height left front wheel house edge
--- subtract desired drop from existing value and place that number here.
Body height right front wheel house edge
--- same as above
Body height left rear wheel house edge
--- same as above
Body height right rear wheel house edge
--- same as above

BASIC-SETTINGS -

ACTIVATE LEVEL CONTROL

DELETE CALIBRATION FOR LEVEL CONTROL
(may need to enter security code, OBDeleven should provide for you)

START UP TO REFERENCE LEVEL

thats awesome. But the problem I’m having now is that it’s stuck in service mode and is pulling a red error on the dash that won’t go away, and it can’t be adjusted. :/

If I had my vehicle I’d run out and check. You may have to change the diagnostic mode to programming.

Try connecting to the 74 Chassis Control unit and change your diagnostic session.
Should be in “VW - diagnostic mode” by default. Change to “Programming mode”, enter security code. Then poke around and see if the Delete… is there.

Then go back to “VW - diagnostic mode”. May throw errors when going to programming mode. They should clear when going back to VW…. If that doesn’t work, also try going to “OBD - diagnostic mode” and back to VW…. This is how I was able to get out of the suspension service mode in the past.

Another thing to try, in Basic Settings (74), Activate level control and “start up to high level”

Again, don’t know if this will solve it or not.

great advice. Will do. Do you happen to know what the suspension security access code is in case I need it? No idea how to find it. The ones listed around the forums aren’t working. Or maybe being in the VW diag mode is why the access codes don’t work

Should be 20103. If not, try 20113.

OMG - Codes didn’t work, but I poked around in the basic settings under programming mode and it has the option “Switch to normal level control function.” I said “eff it,” and hit the slider. It Immediately set my suspension where I usually keep it, and cleared the error. I am so grateful for your help, man.
