Default B9 Trailer wiring

I did some searching without luck so hopefully this kicks up something. I put a trailer hitch on my 2019 S5, and purchased the inductive wiring kit from zci so I did not have to cut any wires. However I do not have any instructions for which tail wires to utilize for the inductive wiring kit. Does anybody know what wires to tap into?

I believe Audi sell a trailer module that plugs in and provides the necessary outputs for you to do what you want.

The ZCI is purchased and installed. I just need to clip on the wires. Had this on my B8 S4. Install was user easy and it worked good. Difference was I had which wires to clip onto but don't for the B9. Really don't want to have to waste the time with trial and error.

Depending on the age of your B9, things have gotten a lot more complicated inside the actual lights themselves. It's no longer the case of 12V on a wire and that lights a bulb. Not for all of them atleast. There is an ECU inside the light cluster that reads messages sent on the single wire LIN BUS and then internally makes the different bulbs light up as per the LIN BUS command. That is how they can make these lights sing and dance. You might still be able to get a few basic things working. But it's not like the good old days, is all I'm warning you about.

Alright....so I got the trailer lights figured out for the ZCI kit. Came back to post details in the event anyone else is having the same problem of not knowing what wires to utilize.

Driver side, left blinker, blue wire with purple stripe
Passenger side, right blinker, gray wire with black stripe. There are two wires with the same color so you may need to trial and error it to get the proper wire.
Tail lights, green with black wire
Stop connector not used in ZCI kit.

I took some crappy pictures, I'll post shortly.

Here are pictures of wire locations prior to running wires and cleaning everything up. The first picture is the driver's side. The arrow pointing to the left indicates the wire is inside to the left. Second picture is also on the driver side, with the left blinker wire identified. Third picture is on the passenger side, with the tail light and right blinker wires identified. Fourth picture is on the driver side identifying where the wires are.

Hey Z06Corey, I hope you still check in once in a while - I'm doing this on a 2018 Allroad, but the wiring setup looks similar......how did you run the wires across to the passenger side of the car? Everything is so finished I'm having a difficult time figuring out how to hide the wires. Also, where did you take the flat 4 wire connector out of the trunk compartment to where you can hook up your trailer?

I am still here. I took a few pictures. See attached (and excuse all the junk, in my trunk). Let me know if I fully answered your questions or if you want to talk about anything in better detail.

1. I ran the wires across the trunk to the passenger side, after pulling up the Chrome piece in this picture.
2. I put the Box behind this cubby and fed the flat four wire connector out for the trailer.
3. When I am going to hook up a trailer, I hold the four wire connector in my hand at about the space and close the trunk on it.
