This message cannot be reset by Ross Tech VAGCOM. This message is something a dealer would generally have to reset. It is likely due to a sensor on the injector pump caused the injector pump itself. I had this same issue on a road trip and had to turn around and drive back to my dealer 7 hours away. I would contact a local Audi dealer who should be able to get you in quickly since this is critical.

Buy some DEF. At least 2 1/2 gallons. Pour it into the AdBlu port next to the fuel filler. Tighten the cap. Turn ignition on but do not start. Wait one minute. Turn ignition off then restart. It may take two or three start stop start cycles but the warning should reset itself.

good luck.

The AdBlue fault is different from an AdBlue level issue. The fault is likely due to the injector pump not functioning properly. This 200 mile no restart issue occurs suddenly without any other countdown message where the system detects that little or no AdBlue is making it out of the injector.

Interesting. Not an issue we have experienced. Will a scan diagnose it, even though it can’t be reset with VCDS?

This I am not sure of since I drove mine right to Audi since I didn't have the ability to make it home, scan and get to the dealership right before they closed without restarting. I have had it back since they replaced the lower transfer pump, the injector pump to find that there was another sensor not on the injector pump that needed to be replaced since the lower transfer pump was still not functioning properly. Luckily for me, all covered under warranty with <1000 miles to spare on the diesel warranty.

Thank you for all of the responses I really appreciate it and also found some things very helpful my mechanic has successfully reset the light so I have no more restart ad default warning he expressed to me that sometimes this happens when we don't take the right steps filling the blue correctly for instance not letting it run long enough after filling the blue or having the key turned long enough after filling the blue

Good news. We’ve been driving these things since 2011 and I’ve done every one of my AdBlue refills and only recently learned this. I usually refill before the warning comes up and have only had an issue getting it to reset once or twice over the years.

Good to hear. Did you have a countdown that showed up prior to this? Or was this an immediate 200 miles AdBlue Fault message?
