Default DE: What viscosity are you using? (not a debate)

I just picked up my 2024 S5 from K-town last week after I placed my order for it in late March (quick build!). I plan to suck out the oem oil at 1k miles and put in Motul 8100 X-clean 5w30. Why? My commute is 25 miles each way and 20 of those miles are autobahn with my car running at least 150km/h optimistically. Realistically. i do hard accels with cruising at 200km/h more often than my fuel mileage likes. I MIGHT switch back to 0w20 or 0w30 in the winter times since it does get quite cold in Bavaria.

I am just curious to how many of you switched away from the 0w20 CAFE/emissions crap oil to something else like 5w30?

NOT LOOKING FOR A DEBATE or beating the dead horse oil debate.

The RS5 calls for 0w-30 so that’s what I use.

That is a great oil. That and Motul were neck and neck in the 0w20 test HERE

Yeah, the RS5 uses the same oil.

2019 RS5, I am using 0W-30 (504.00 / 507.00)

The Audi dealer noted it as Part: G-E52-545-S0 on the Audi Care service invoice.

https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/20...78559-0001.pdf

"Audi Genuine 0W-30 (504.00 / 507.00)
Part Number:
Bulk: G -E55-030-1B-DSP
Drum: G -E55-030-1D-DSP
Quart: G -E55-030-1Q-DSP

Warranty Info / DMS Stocking Part Number:
SAGA Part: G-E52-545-S0"

Will hijack this thread somewhat since it is related. Do you guys actually use the exact VW 508.00 spec asked for or just any oil of the particular viscosity of choice? Is there any real difference? I don't really mind spending the extra for a twice-annual service but there is a fairly significant price gap between the generic/domestic spec 0w-20 and the VW eurocar spec.

508 spec has a specific HTHS rating that a generic non-508 spec oil may not have. Its very important and i highly recommend you look at this OIL TESTING link to make a decision on oil. Cliff notes: Liquimoly is overrated. Mobile 1 ESP, Motul, and Ravenol are the top three. Even though i switched to 5w30, i still went with VW 50400 spec oil since the EA839 engine calls for 0w20 or 50400 in this Audi training book at THIS LINK on page 26
