Transmission Issues on 2014 Audi A4

When slowing down from 25-20 mph to 0 mph, the transmission jerks. I took it to a transmission shop where they inspected it and concluded that there was nothing wrong with the transmission. However, they did note that it shifts hard and recommended a transmission fluid flush. I also noticed that it doesn't shift into first gear until reaching 5 mph when coming to a stop. Is this normal? When I do go to a stop in neutrel, the car does not jerk.
I'm wondering if a transmission fluid flush will resolve the issue of hard shifting. I've heard from many people that there's a risk of damaging the transmission with a flush.
The car is a 2014 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro.

1, you never flush a ZF, only drain/fill. Then again, how many miles are on the trans? Should you have already done an ATF drain/fill anyway?
2, is the TCM software up to date? This sounds like something there was a TSB for, no?

Is the 2014 Audi a4 a ZF? Transmission? I searched around and saw that its a different transmission then the ZF.
it has around 86,xxx miles
Is there a way for me to see if it’s up to date?

US B8 A4 automatics use either a ZF for quattro or a CVT for fwd. The DCT is used on the S4 quattro, not the A4 quattro, here. The 8-speed in the B8 is the ZF 8HP55A.
You'd have to ask them if they are also dropping the pan and replacing the filter, or if they are only draining and refilling. A flush means pressurized, and has no business on a ZF trans.
ZF is quite clear what a service event should be: https://aftermarket.zf.com/us/afterm...assenger-cars/ And a dealership already knows all this, is in the workshop manual for the transmission. But Audi itself never qualifies this as "something you need to do regularly", unlike ZF who is clear it needs to be done at intervals.

I feel better now since I have a ZF8 since it is Quattro and 8 speed. I always heard they are really good transmission since big name performance cars use them.
my question now is do you think it’s really necessary for me to do this drain and refill now or can I wait sometime? if its not a huge deal with the hard shifting I will just wait sometime as it’s more of an annoying thing feeling it shift like how it does.

You're at the point (well, slightly past) when ZF says to do the ATF service. If you plan on keeping the car a long time, do the service. If you don't expect to have the car past 150k, you'll never notice either way. But if I'm buying one at 150k, one properly serviced is more valuable than one that has been ignored.
As for waiting, sure, but I wouldn't wait past 100k.
