Default Paint wrap

I'm considering a front wrap with Xpel PPF - bumper, hood, fenders, headlights, mirrors. $2k.

Anyone with experience with this product, thoughts? Keep in mind that I travel across country (2,200 miles eac way) and pick up lots of rock chips (gone through 4 windshields over the last several years.

Highly recommended if you don't like rock chips. I do front end PPF on all my cars, except on my R8 I did 100% coverage. I also get my cars ceramic coated after the PPF which makes it easier to clean. But don't do ceramic coat unless you wash the car yourself. No automatic washes with ceramic coatings.

It's rare for me to use a car wash. I have a garage loaded with car products, a couple of orbital polishers - small and large, I typically repair my own scratches, etc.

Question: can you tell the difference between the covered and non-covered panels?

On a good wrap job, no you can't tell a difference. Here is a picture of my car which has front end PPF exactly like you proposed for your car. The film ends at the leading edge of the front door / fender.
Hood, bumper, headlights and fenders are all covered.

A good wrap job means they use slightly oversized film sections, and wrap the film edges around the edge of the panels. This way there are no visible film edges exposed which can collect dirt.

You might want to confirm with your installer that they are going to wrap the film around the edges of the panels. Some installers use computer cutout film pieces that are not large enough to wrap around the panels. You don't want that if you are concerned about how the film looks.
Exposed film edges will be visible to the eye.

This is my R8 with 100% PPF coverage. Everything is wrapped bumper to bumper.

This is a pic of my R8 during the wrap process. You can see my installer was using bulk film and cutting it himself, instead of using the computer cut pieces. The film is laid over the hood and he cuts away the excess and tucks all the edges around the panels.

Beautiful car! I talked to "wrappers". They don't use bulk pieces, they cut them all, but their software allows them to extend the plots. They say they wrap aroound all edges so I have scheduled an appointment. July 8th and 9th (they say it takes them two days)

I had the XPEL Ultimate film installed on my last two cars. I put more than 140k miles on the film on my 2015 and the car still looked brand new when Audi bought her back. I immediately had it installed when I took delivery of my 2022. Needless to say, I am a big fan.
