My 2018 is due for it's 6th year/60k mile service. It currently has 51k miles.
What actually needs to be done at this time?
I got a quote from my deal for ~$900 that looks like I'm only get a basic oil change and brake fluid flush.
I don't want to be cheap with maintenance but it also doesn't make sense to spend all that money on "checks".
I've seen/heard oil changes are easy enough with a pump (without having to go under the car to drain) but how different is the brake fluid flush?

Yes, much of the cost is apparently in "checking" things. I think a basic 10K service at my dealer is $380 but just an oil and filter change was something like $180.
I extracted the actual to-do items at every mileage, leaving out the "checks". 60K is
Engine oil / Oil filter - Change oil and replace filter
Doors - Lubricate straps, locks, hinge, latch (all)
Dust and pollen filter - Replace filter
Air filter - Replace and clean housing
Brake fluid - Change (2 years)
Lithium grease spray takes about 10 minutes on all the hinges
Air filter is about 15 minutes
Pollen filter is a PITA to get to, but 20 minutes if you find the YouTube video and can contort your body to get to it
An Oil change is easy if you get a vacuum pump. I got the pump, oil, filter, funnel for roughly the $180 a dealer service would have cost, and now can do changes for just the $76.11 Maintenance Kit from DAP.
I figure I'll notice if the horn, headlights, sunroof, etc., aren't working, I'll survive if the First Aid Kit is out of date, I'll likely notice meaningful leaks on my driveway, and the independent that I take it to checks all of the others each 40K DSG service. To me, "checking" everything else that often isn't worth the hundreds of dollars.
Brake fluid is one thing I leave to a pro - both the risk, and just not worth the effort. The timing comes with the DSG change - I'm not overly concerned stretching it to 3 years or so.
That quote is laughable. $398 labour for an oil change? yeah right. $200 for a brake flush is fair enough assuming they're flushing the whole system.
Is your car equipped with a DSG? I assume the DSG fluid was done at the 40k service, if not then make sure you do that.
Oil change is as easy as can be, filter is on top, there's a little cap where you'd expect the dip stick to be what you can extract the old oil out of, engine will take 5.2L of oil to get up to the max line although you'll be perfectly fine with just a 5L bottle in my experience as there's always some residual in the engine.
Brake flush is also just the same as any other car, only issue can arise if you drain the system completely then you will need a scan tool to re-bleed the ABS pump. Also if you're using a pressure bleeder make sure not to over pressurise the system as there are stories of it damaging the brake booster, Maximum pressure should be written on the brake reservoir cap.
Check out the YouTube channel Mechanical Nightmare. LOL I've seen people put the wrong fluid in the wrong place. Also seen them fill the engine oil all the way to the tippy top like it was windshield washer fluid. Some people just have no mechanical ability whatsoever.
Plenty of guys try to do a basic oil change at home and drain the fluid, put 5 qts in the engine and are surprised the engine smokes and the transmission doesnt move. THEY DRAINED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID!

thank you for the comments.
it seems like the brake fluid should be scheduled as it's not as simple as i had thought it would be.
my car was had audi care the first 5 years/50k miles so it had all the standard services - DSG fluid was replaced at 2 years ago.
That quote is laughable. $398 labour for an oil change? yeah right.
No, not right. $398 was the quote labor for a 60K service. OP listed the many, many items Audi includes in this service, as did my reply. As I also noted in the reply, dealers will quote a much lower price for just an oil change. You have the choice to not have the receommnded services performed, and I have done so many times, but "398 labour for an oil change" is a significant misrepresentation.

I got a quote for just an oil change and at $200 it still seams ridiculous to me.
BMW does $200 for 3 years of oil changes.

Maybe?
Everything was under Audi care.
I think it's labeled as "plug" on the paperwork.
Part 0CK-321-439-A returns as a gearbox filter in google.
There is nothing special about the 60 thousand mile service for an A4 unless you have some deferred maintenance. That $210 price for an oil change at the dealership is probably in the correct range. Dealership labor rates where I live are $200 / hr. When I purchased my 2003 Honda Pilot the dealership offered a promotional pre paid package of 6 oil changes for a price that came out to less than $40 per change. That offer was not repeated. The days of 3 oil changes for $200 are pre pandemic history unless it is wrapped up in some other promotion.
Depending on the beverage that you buy at Starbucks, if you leave a tip you don't get change from $10. Life has changed. If you want low oil change cost do it yourself.
