I have a Uniden R7 from my previous car, and recently bought this mount: BR7-2032 Uniden R7 Radar Detector Rearview Mirror Mount (blendmount.com)
I also bought the wire to tap into the mirror: MirrorTap MT-1015, 15", RJ-11, .080" REG Taps, 2 Amp Fuse (blendmount.com)
I have the FitCamX dashcam coming (FITCAMX Dash Cam for Audi) and was wondering if anyone run this setup here?
From my research, it seems that the radar mirror tap works fine, and the fitcamx works fine, but I have not seen anyone using both at the same time.
Also side question: Is it worth it to get a camera for the back as well? I don't like to mess with the car since its so new and potentially break a clip or something.
Is a front facing camera enough?

I typically do the mirror tap for the radar and then just use a usb-c to OBD2 adapter to power the dashcam, as I like those with an external battery pack and I tuck that in under the dash or in the footwell somewhere. I think this is an easy way to power the dashcam/battery and it’s easy to reverse later. This is what I’m using:
