Wife has a 2013 A5 Cabrio that we baby and is in great condition but we have something going on that our regular mechanic (a local VW / Audi guy) can't seem to fix. We have now thrown thousands of dollars at the issue with no relief. It occasionally (used to seem like it only happened cold, now not so much) has difficulty starting. It will end up starting if you hold the button and pump the gas - but maybe this is coincidental. The car has 83,000 miles on it. We have changed plugs, coil packs and the battery in efforts to fix this. Once started it runs perfectly and throws no codes. It happens a couple of times a week. Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions.

It can be difficult to find mechanics these days who prioritize troubleshooting over parts replacement.
Some workshops may focus on replacing parts quickly, even if some existing parts are still functional.
Consider searching for a more experienced mechanic who has a strong background in diagnosing and repairing car problems. They'll be able to identify the root cause of the issue and recommend the most effective repairs.
You might also ask to get possibly replaced parts back (they were yours from your car). They are most probably still functional.
