Expired Map Updates Subscription - error message

So I have a 2019, built in late 2018. According to my research, we get 5 years from in service date of free map updates. Mine appears to have expired.
The car downloads map updates, but then installation fails with an error message that the map update cannot be installed. It's super annoying to have that error message appear every time I start the car. Dealer says the only solution is to order the SD Card full map update ($600), but that is only a one-time update. It will not renew the subscription, so the first time the maps update after the SD Card install, the same error will appear. I don't mind using Android Auto (and saving the $600), but I hate the popup appearing each time I start the car.
I'm every skeptical that dealer is correct. Certainly there is a way to renew the maps subscription. Anyone have any other intel on this issue you can pass along?
Thanks!

I wish I knew the answer. That error message would drive me insane as well. Why can they not let the map updates just expire and not annoy you with these message is beyond me. With Andoid and Carplay on almost all cars nowadays, why would anyone pay for a map update? Let us know if there is a way to get rid of these messages.
